Navigate with Section Control implement

Introduction

The "Section Control" feature in the FieldBee Navigation app provides convenient equipment management in the field, enabling precise section control. This feature is designed to save resources (seeds, fertilizers, fuel) and increase work efficiency. You can turn sections on or off automatically or manually, minimizing waste and avoiding overlaps in already treated areas.

Activating the "Section Control" Feature, it avalible from 10.8.1

  1. Check Compatibility:

    • Ensure that your device supports the "Section Control" feature and is updated to the latest version of FieldBee Navigation application: 10.8.1
  2. Activate the Feature:

    • Open the FieldBee Navigation app.
    • Go to Subscriptions.
    • Activate subscription for "Implement Section Guide".

1. Section Control Modes

1.1 Manual Mode

Purpose:
In Manual Mode, the user has full control over turning sections on or off manually, regardless of field boundaries or covered areas.

Functionality:

  • Users can turn all sections on/off at once or control each section individually

  • Sections operate based on the user-set status, both inside and outside the field boundaries

  • The covered area behind the implement is visualized according to the active sections

  • The system does not automatically change section statuses—full control remains with the user

Section statuses:

  • On (green): manually turned on, regardless of location

  • Off (red): manually turned off

User Benefits:

  • Flexibility: allows working on any area, even outside defined field boundaries

  • Full control: ideal for complex terrain or non-standard field shapes

  • Accurate calculation & reporting: all processed areas are recorded, enabling precise reporting even with manual control

1.2 Auto Mode

Purpose:
In Auto Mode, the system automatically manages section statuses based on the selected field, GPS location, and coverage map.

Important:
Auto Mode works only when a field is selected. Without a selected field, automatic section control is disabled.

Functionality:

  • The system automatically turns sections on when they are within the field and off when outside the field or over already covered areas

  • Users can manually turn off individual sections; these are marked as Off by user

  • Section statuses update in real time

Section statuses:

  • On (green): section active and inside the selected field

  • Off by system (gray): section automatically turned off because it is outside the field or over a covered area

  • Off by user (red): section manually turned off by the user

User Benefits:

  • Optimized coverage: minimizes skips and overlaps automatically

  • Resource savings: reduces costs on seeds, fertilizers, and chemicals by accurately disabling sections outside the field

  • Lower operator workload: no need for constant manual control of sections

  • Automatic reporting: all activity and coverage data are logged for agronomic analysis and reporting

Important

  • Maximum Number of Sections:
The system supports up to 32 sections, allowing efficient coverage of large fields. Min width of section - 10 cm, max - 1 600 cm

Additional Tips

  1. Preparation Before Use:
Ensure that all parameters (width, number of sections) are configured correctly to avoid errors during fieldwork.

  2. Visual Cues:
During operation, the system provides visual cues about the status of sections. Use these indicators for real-time management when conditions change.

This guide will help you effectively utilize the "Section Control" feature to enhance productivity and reduce costs during fieldwork.
